Optimation appoints new leaders for NZ Consulting and Test practices
Optimation has appointed Craig Reid as its new General Manager Consulting and Sophia Hobman as national Test Practice Manager. The appointments bring additional senior leadership capacity and focus at a time of significant growth for the Optimation Group, as the business has expanded in Australia through OGA and developed innovation-led ventures in the Asian and North American markets.
Craig is responsible for leading Optimation’s rapidly growing New Zealand consulting business. He has more than twenty years’ experience in business and IT leadership in New Zealand, Australia and Asia, and he has previously built large consulting teams for Deloitte and PWC.
Craig specialises in delivering transformational change programs to improve business performance. This has included business model and organisational design, organisational change, and business process re-engineering initiatives. Most recently, his work has centred on digital change, customer centricity, and on applying disruptive technology and innovation to create new business models. Craig’s skills are a strong fit with Optimation’s consulting expertise in areas including business analytics, enterprise awareness, information management, and digital transformation.
As Optimation’s new Test Practice Manager, Sophia Hobman heads a growing nationwide team delivering end-to-end test services and test consultancy to customers including Housing NZ, Vodafone, and the Ministry of Education. Sophia has an extensive background in test leadership. Over the past 15 years, she has led successful test teams at companies including Cap Gemini NZ, HP NZ, and Unisys (Global Outsourcing).
Sophia combines deep expertise in testing and quality assurance with a sharp customer-centric focus. She has worked in vendor and client-side roles across sectors including Finance, Government, Telecommunications, Health, and Transport. While she is a career testing specialist, her broad industry experience means she brings a holistic focus across the entire application development life cycle.
